Oh boy, this is the page where I’m supposed to talk about myself. That seems odd. Well, I could hire someone to write this for me. But that might end up sounding too “professional”. Alright, I’ll give it a try. I’m not one of those artists who knew they were born to be a creator from age 4. I enjoyed drawing and art in general throughout my childhood, but I didn’t have a real camera in my hands until I was 23 when I picked up my parents' old film camera. I quickly fell in love with the way a lens could show the world to you in an artistic way. Suddenly, I had an obsession with learning how to create images with a camera. I remember reading a lot of photography magazines those first few years. Learning as much as I could about everything photography.

After a lot of research and thinking (typically what I do) I decided to transition from hobbyist to part time photographer in 2008. I did what most beginner photographers do. I bought enough gear to photograph basically anything and everything. You name it, I was photographing it. Weddings, portraits, sports, landscapes etc. But here’s the thing, I was good at all of them, but I wasn’t great at any of them. It took me 4 years to find what I was truly best at. In 2012 I met Chris Cooke and he opened the world of real estate photography to me. I began photographing all of his real estate listings, around 250 homes a year! Photographing homes was the perfect blend of technical and creative photography for me. I was hooked and decided that this was what I was going to specialize in. 

What do I photograph when I’m not on the job? Space. Not interior space, outer space! Coincidentally, also in 2012, I stumbled upon a video on YouTube of a highschool kid explaining how he uses his camera, laptop, and telescope to take pictures of space. I was blown away. I didn’t think something like that was even possible. I thought only NASA could photograph space. I bought a telescope right away and joined the Harford County Astronomical Society. Over the last 10 years I have photographed the sun, moon, planets, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies and more. It is a wonderful passion of mine that I enjoy sharing with others.
